Mentari Dress in Cream

I got this primarily for the lace overdress. I don't like how the slip is so short and does not follow the hemline of the skirt. It is a distracting and not very flattering look, to be honest. It makes it look like there is something wrong with the dress. Also, it fits very tightly, while the overdress is much more loose, making it ride up all the time and impossible to adjust. Not a good look. I think the only way to make that work would be to order it a couple sizes up and just add a belt.

But, the lace is astoundingly beautiful and so unique! I will see if I can find a longer, more loose fitting taupe slip to wear under it, or make something myself, and it will be perfect!

This dress is made of a very thick heavy duty lace. As a result it didn't hang on my narrow body the way I wanted. So I'm going to alter it. I don't have huge hips (36") so maybe this is why. It gathered up in the front a bit more than I liked and was pretty bulk because of the thickness. I was not expecting this since all the pictures of it made the lace look more flowy. I'm going to need to take it in so it's a little more form fitting. Not what you want to do when you pay this much but i think i can make it work. With the thickness of the lace it's the only way it will look good in my opinion.
